It's difficult to imagine yourself an intrepid Nigel Thornberry traversing the grassy plains when it's raining poodles outside, but Kylie Zerbst of Obus has managed to see the golden dot on the horizon to bring you an African savanna inspired summer collection.

The Safari Times is all about natural fibres and harlequin prints, earthen greens and browns, and blues the colour of the watering hole. All you need is a pair of binoculars to go with your safari jumpsuit and you'll look the part hanging out of a dusty all-wheel drive watching giraffes butting each other with their necks. Or, equally, drinking a flatty in a Melbourne laneway when the sun's out.

Welcome the warmer weather with Obus at their Melbourne Spring Fashion Week launch, where you can sip on summery cocktails while taking your own safari through the store, dress up in the new range, and have your portrait snapped by a roving photographer for the Obus travel album. It's this Friday September 3 at the city store, 4/289 Flinders Lane, from 6-9pm.
