HEY LADY. You want Dainty Sichuan BBQ? You want Kenzan Maguro sushi sushi? Hawkers are great! I don't know why no-one wants them to come around. Especially this guy, what an attitude.

Anyway, a highlight of the Food and Wine Fest this year will be the Heat Beads Hawkers Market at Queen Vic. Get a ticket and you can browse the food stalls with up to four plates! We're talking sushi by Kenzan, BBQ chicken sticks with green papaya salad by Cookie, Chilli chicken by Dainty Sichuan, roast suckling pig by Warung Agus Balinese.

This is no $2 squat. It will sell out pretty soon though, so get a ticket for one of the twice-nightly sessions on March 15, 16 or 17, and tell those hawkers they can knock on your door with a pan-fried dumpling combo and a children's encyclopedia subscription any time they like.
