INT: Ernie Dingo picks up an idle Viewmaster. Clicking through the slides of his past, he reaches an epiphany about his life hitherto and is suddenly returned to a childhood lost from the decay of age.
EXT: Upon hearing Dingo's clichéd realisations, hundreds of Viewmasters rise from their toy-chest graves and plot their own form of cultural revenge!
Now is the time for the 3D master-of-viewing to forego its stereotype as overused plot device in short film and finally let the medium be the message. This Thursday night ACMI will be hosting Vladmaster. An event created by conceptual wonder woman, Vladimir (rumoured Viewmaster ruler and God) where the sound of hundreds of clacking Viewmasters will unleash an equally personal and highly public viewing experience.
Return to a world where Disney characters and Paris skylines live in 3D and the sound of clack clacking brings joy and mirth to all. Except this time Vlad's taken the photos herself, painstakingly hand-assembled the reels and created a soundscape of music, narration, sound effects and ding noises to cue image changes. We guarantee it'll be better than being read to by your grandma in bed with hot Milo and dressing gowns.
