Every city has one: a movie theatre where you can go and see old classics in their original movie-format. Screening classics is just one of the many perks of the Astor Theatre, but its importance can't be lost in the complex and thoughtful sentences which are to follow here: you can't watch Hitchcock on a laptop, and the Astor Theatre will do its best to help you out.

The Astor Theatre may also be one of the last theatres to offer double features (remember them?), and they clearly have a great time coming up with the combinations: Couple's Retreat and Les Enfants du Paradis, anyone?

Having first opened in 1936, the theatre has a capacity of over 1000 and has maintained all original fittings, including stalls and a dress circle. The Astor: making the experience of an original 1930s movie theatre all the more real with just a little class constriction.
