Scienceworks has a new exhibition about the holy grail of nerdom, Star Wars. Normally we wouldn't be caught dead at something like this, but when we heard one of our favourite readers had been to a preview, we realised it's gonna be okay for us to drool all over George Lucas' nuts again. Ling Ang, a Star Wars enthusiast, general geek, and awesome door girl for our Cool Aid fundraiser event had some insightful comments about the exhibition and some revealing ones about her personal life.

Patrick Collins: Okay, first, your vitals, how old are you?
Ling Ang: 18.
PC: How much do you weigh?
LA: (laughs) 65kgs
PC: 65kg, my American brain doesn't work like that, is that normal Star Wars fan fat?
LA: Nah. Skinnier.

PC: Okay, so not all Star Wars fans are fat?
LA: Nope. All the kids are nice and skinny.
PC: You said you were 18, what age do normal Australians grow out of liking Star Wars?
LA: From what I saw last night...maybe in your 70s? My dad is 66 and he still loves it.

PC: Who was your favorite character in Star TREK?
LA: What?! (laughs) Hmm. The Asian guy?
PC: Mine was Spock, check out how he handles Star Wars nerds.

PC: Is Han Solo or Luke Skywalker hotter?
LA: Luke in EP IV before he became munted. But Han Solo all the way.

PC: Does Scienceworks' exhibition scream science nerd or regular nerd?
LA: Science nerd. No matter what the exhibition is. Even with Star Wars, they try to incorporate as much science into it as possible.

PC: Did you buy anything while you were there?
LA: Yes! A really dodgy, large-sized kids Princess Leia (EP IV) costume, a Darth Vader bobble head, and a light saber torch.
PC: How many times have you worn the costume already?
LA: Twice. Once when I came home last night and this morning to show my parents (laughs).
PC: Do you sleep in it?
LA: Nah I sleep in my Doraemon jumpsuit instead.
PC: What does your boyfriend think of your new costume? Yeahhh...
LA: My parents think my love for things like Star Wars would die out if I actually HAD a boyfriend to distract me.
PC: Well then, what does your dad think of it?
LA: He thinks I'm cool and I look funny.

PC: Check this and this out and then give me your opinion on George Lucas contributing to the carnal instincts of our children.
LA: (laughs really hard) I swear that happens to all toys. Little girls and their vibrating Harry Potter broomsticks. I don't find Jar Jar Binks is attractive, but I've always had a thing for Chewbacca, so hairy, mmmm.
PC: Oh god.
LA: Now all the Star Wars nerds will REALLY have some stuff to wank over.
PC: Well, us too, thanks!
LA: (laughs)
