Piera Gelardi and Philippe von Borries have excellent names. They are also very clever, and are the two key people behind one of New York's most forward thinking online fashion publications, Refinery29.
Followed by millions every month, Refinery29 caters to an international fashion audience through a range of online avenues including designer shops, interactive trend reporting and style guides.
The Icehouse
While proper bagels and decent percolated coffee may never reach our fine shores, the North American Antipodean Domination is well on its way, leaving a trail of Obesity, Douchebaggery, and some sweet-ass Mexican Food in its wake. As an esteemed member of the high council I am proud to announce that the sixth seal has finally been broken with the long-awaited opening of Melbourne's Icehouse.

An Evening with David Sedaris
David Sedaris is a lot like getting drunk on dry apple cider. Which, I am at the moment. It's refreshing, summery, and a lot of fun for about an hour and a half. Then it gives you a headache. So it's very convenient that his fun, refreshing, summer speaking engagement on Monday is only 90 minutes long.
Sidetracked Entertainment Centre
So the other day I went with some pals to a place in Oakleigh called Sidetracked. It's this big shed in the middle of nowhere with a crappy old sign out the front that hides what is actually inside, NOTHING BUT FUN!
Go-karting, mini golf, laser shooting, video games, dim-sims, and ‘pepsi drinks'.
Animal Collective afterparty
Now, if you haven't had enough of the band that Pitchfork would choose over a week of hot dinners with David Bowie, here's something to do after Dead Set tonight. Animal Collective are playing a free DJ set at the Toff! They'll be supported by DJ People, who are in actual fact Guy Blackman and Ben O'Connor.
Victorian Marriage Registry Weddings
When I got married last Friday, two options were presented to me by my father. The first involved a Voodoo custom where a chicken would be laid at my feet while my mother spoke to the devil. The second was running off to Vegas and getting married by Chriss Angel, who would turn my wife into a basket of Ed-Hardy T-Shirts as he handed me a stack of casino chips.
