There is so much going on upstairs from Von Haus, we'll soon be introducing a new section to the newsletter: HEAR, READ, SHOP, STRAY, VONHAUS. Until then, you'll have to make do with the keyword search. But oh this is completely solid. A sale of vintage clothing, accessories and shoes from the late Victorian era to the ‘90s.
It doesn't seem long ago that we were wincing at the angular, top-heavy fashions of the 1980s. According to Laver's Law, we should still be dismissing fashions of thirty years past as "amusing" - give it another twenty years and apparently we'd be describing ‘80s fads as "quaint".
Heave open the wrought iron doors of Friperie and the collection will cause bladder-tickling, cross-legged excitement. The Smith Street emporium is rustling with full skirted, off the shoulder, boned through the waist and shoulder padded cocktail dresses with lines projecting the bosom and hourglass silhouettes; these pieces must have been whipped off set of Gilda.
Sugar-related funnies aside, Donuts Deluxe is the newest shop filling the 0 in Melbourne's retail cool. The genii behind the project - Ben and Sam Totty - have selected their stock from brands including New Era, WeSC, Nice Produce and Ben's own label, 20's and 10's. Not to mention artist editions from Thrasher and Juxtapoz, and a range of rare Nikes that we contend are ‘fresh-to-death'.

If you said heaven, you're right! But if you can't wait that long - where on earth are you gonna find all these delights? That's Ooga Booga in LA's Chinatown.
If you think about the last time someone turned to you and said, "Hey, I like you!" Chances are you'll stare wistfully out the window and crave pie. But we're here to tell you that a) we're pretty fond of you and b) people don't say they like each other enough. Before you take your fingers to your tongue and gesticulate barfing, think about it.
Description:
Inanimate objects aren't really celebrated per se for stealing the show in Hollywood. That was until Marc Jacobs designed monogrammed animal-themed travel cases for The Darjeeling Limited, which distracted us from the awkward Owen Wilson-is-in-rehab undercurrent. Since that moment, we have been besotted by the old-fashioned sophistication of travel trunks.
