This is something of a local spot in LA for all types of wears, reads and conversations. Run collaboratively by Ryan Conder and Danielle Kays, the store is predominantly clothing for guys, but in the past few years has become a reliable source for Californian ceramics, artist editions and a fair stack of carefully curated art publications (props to painter and past-time staffer Matt Connors!).
In addition to SW's fashion staples - Band Of Outsiders, Dries Van Noten and Margaret Howell, the store has a history of recontextualising some classic American brands through their collaborations with the likes of Quoddy Trail Moccasins (Maine), Crescent Down Works (Seattle) and Birdwell Beach Britches (California).
The best way to describe the store is perhaps to think of an independent record store filled with clothing and objects instead of albums...the staff delivering a respectable passion and pitch with each drop of new items. Stop by if you are stopping through LA or shop online here. Some of my favorite stuff includes Kelly Breslin ceramics, Stan Bitters ceramic bird-houses, Quoddy for South Willard blutchers, Crescent Down Works shirt jacket and Jason Meadows lamps.
