If you've spent any time shopping for vintage in Melbourne you're sure to have had an impossibly fashionable woman with a wild blonde afro look after you. Her hairdo can now be found wedged within the four walls of Melbourne's smallest and newest accessories shop, ‘Glitzern' in Crossley Street.
Glitzern, which is German for glitter, is a joint venture between Moi Rogers and one of the original co-founders of Alice Euphemia, Caroline Price. Sourced predominantly from designers in LA and New York, Glitzern stocks only one local product (House of Baulch) and is not your standard fare ‘bling'.Concept and costume jewellery - often with a post-modern aesthetic - dominates, such Scott Stephen's 07/08 ‘Chic Punk' collection which pays tribute to Vivienne Westwood and the shrunken head Voodoo stylings of New York designer Mended Veil. We like the vintage hip hop geometric Cazal sunnies... Glitzern bling for Summer 2008.
