There are certain things which serve warning that a super-super sophisticated experience is about to happen. For example: the presence of a super-super-sleek glass and metal lift built to ferry people a mere one story into a pristine white basement. So it should come as no surprise when said lift opens to reveal Melbourne's best range of super-super clothing, scents and candles at Assin.

Simply put, Assin is so good that it can prevent you wishing you lived in New York, Tokyo or any other global retail capital. It's as good as it gets in this town and a must-see in any Melbourne experience. Their range includes Junya Watanabe, Ann Demeulemeester, Comme des Garcons, Lanvin and Maison Martin Margiela and all are presented in a space that feels more like a gallery than a shop. This is how the other half live and if you give me half a chance I will live like them too.
