I've been visiting The McSweeney's Store a lot lately because I heard that occasionally they'll offer huge bargains on their subscriptions just because they feel like it. You never know when it's going to happen though, so you have to be VIGILANT. While I was there, clicking refresh like a deranged mouse in a science experiment, not finding any bargains, I found something else.
Sign up to the McSweeney's Book Release Club for around 100 clams, and they'll send you the next ten books they put out, roughly every month. They can tell you what the first two will be, but after that... it's a mystery! A risk! A game of chance! Come on down, gamblers - this one's for you.
Normally, throwing money at someone to give you a 'surprise' would sound like a foolish idea, but I feel pretty good about this one. Deal me in, croupier, I've got my lucky underpants on.

ThreeThousand is a subcultural guide to Melbourne, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Melbourne writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence ThreeThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
