To paraphrase Mr Burns: from the mightiest pharaoh to the lowliest peasant, who doesn't enjoy uncoated paper? New local design collective A Thousand Shipwrecks certainly does, and you can bask in this reflected passion via their print debut, the aptly titled Maiden Voyage. Look! They even wrote "Maiden Voyage" on the cover in perfectly arranged paper boats.

A Thousand Shipwrecks is Elwyn Murray, Max Design 'n' Shit, Xavier Connely, Charlton Quitoriano, Steve Gavan and Sara Hayat, and with Maiden Voyage they've curated an array of nautically inspired works from 15 emerging artists, designers and musicians. Well, just one musician, local soundscape heroes ITA, but it means that every book comes with a CD, so quit yo' bitching, fool.

More importantly, though (at least to those of us with an easily satisfied craving for Mountain Goat and cheap canapes), there's an opening. Tonight! Yowzers! It will feature thousands of paper boats. I'm almost positive they'll have enough.
