Dumbo feather turns 1! A landmark, a testament to taste, a damn tootin', honky tonkin', whiskey swillin' celebration. A magazine year is far more impressive than a dog-year, especially in Australia, when often all you've got to go on is the sniff of an oily rag and sometimes even that isn't very oily. Amongst this, Dumbo feather maintains exactly what its content seeks to explore, integrity and inspiration.
Each issue features five people with guts and style who have taken the road less travelled and lived to tell the tale. This issue features Troy Lum, the man behind Hopscotch Films, Minmia, an aboriginal woman who is keeper of the women's lore and spiritual healer, Louise Olsen of Dinosaur Designs, adventurer David de Rothschild, and coffee guru Toby Smith.
The clever kids at Dumbo feather have also started a forum in order to carry on the conversations that begin on the page. Brilliant.

ThreeThousand is a subcultural guide to Melbourne, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Melbourne writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence ThreeThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
