This may be creepy, but Apartamento is the sort of publication that I like to pick up and smell: in private, in public, it doesn't matter. I like to flick through the pages about a dozen times to let it wash over me before I settle on an article or an image to really sink into.

It's the sort of magazine that I've stopped lending to friends because I always want it back. I need it near me, always at arm's length so when my own apartment is messy with an ad-hoc interior it still feels okay. And so when the light shines through the windows it is somehow brighter, warmer, more inspiring.

Issue 03 of Apartamento has articles on slaves, Julio Inglesias, forest books from Hiroshi at Utrecht bookstore in Tokyo, plants, BLESS and an ‘everyday life travel supplement' with contributions from Geoff McFetridge, Ari Marcopolis and Elk Zine's Jocko Weyland.
