Unlike some Lygon Street restaurants, Tiamo doesn't have people out the front doing the hard sell. The simple reason for this is that it doesn't need to. Translated from the Italian, tiamo means 'I love you' and it's this attitude and warmth that has ensured that the feeling is reciprocated by so many Melburnians. Across the road from the Nova it is perfect for a pre-movie dinner or a pseudo intellectual chat. Like Pelligrini's in the city you know it is authentic because you can actually see Nona in the kitchen, the wine is served in latte glasses and there is no chance of you leaving with an empty stomach.
