I'm sure the gym has its benefits, what with the treadmills and the headbands and the towels, but it's always been puzzling to me why you'd fork out to go to such a place when there are these wonderful inventions called bicycles which keep you fit and get you places, all the while forcing you to interact with the rest of the world and have crazy adventures.
The Bicycle Film Festival celebrates the wonder of the bike and all it's accompanying experiences. Sweet Ride is the BFF art exhibition, curated by Ilana Russell and featuring work encompassing photography, illustration, sculpture and film by top-shelf folk such as Kate Moss, Marian Wolfgang, Andy Murphy, Christina Tester, Chris Day, Conor O'Brien and Benjamin ‘pun-master' Lichtenstein, whose brilliantly entitled ‘It's not about the bike (self-portrait)' is pictured to the left.
Also of note is the contribution from fellow curator, writer and artist Robert Cook, whose drawings will be given away at the end of the show to punters who are willing to display the work permanently upon their skin as tattoos. Good luck finding that level of commitment at Fitness First.
