The Sporting Club Hotel is at once unspectacular and a secret cavern of wonders, depending on how you see things. Yes, it’s true that you probably wouldn’t frequent it under normal circumstances – there isn’t exactly any music, per se, on the premises – but come Monday nights, the Sporting Club has possibly the best square meal on offer outside of your parents’ kitchen (and within a reasonable travelling distance from the city).

It’s roo. That’s right; our native emblem, scourge of farmers, friend of the environment. The humble kangaroo is full of Omega-3 fatty acids and comes with its very own carbon neutral rating. Sustainable beyond belief, by dining at the Sporting Club on Monday nights you’ll be doing right – not only by your bank balance, but also by your country. And a little bit of your country will be served back to you. On a plate. In steak form. For ten bucks. With chips and salad (or veggies and mash) and your choice of 4 kinds of gravy. Go on! You deserve it. There may also be trivia involved – which may or may not aid digestion. Roo!
