The partnership behind Romance Was Born was once offered an internship with Galliano. But for their love of Australian kitsch and commitment to personal pursuits, they turned the Gibraltarian's shapely ass down. Their latest collection Namaste launches tonight at Alice Euphemia. So if you see a man with heavily manicured eyebrows, weeping into his champagne glass, give him a sympathetic wave.
While Namaste isn't as playful as previous collections, it's wholeheartedly emblematic of the label's wild streak. It's a celebration of love, harmony and the exotic, but not in an imported-goods-new-shipment-of-‘oriental'-vases kind of a way. Think ceremonial drums, blessing virgin brides and swinging from vine to vine in a tiny loincloth. In your face Galliano.
