Twinkle Twinkle, the title of Rhys Lee's current exhibition at Helen Gory Galerie, confirms that this young art-star is burning bright. A prolific and entrepreneurial artist, you may remember his work on the billboard above the corner of Little Collins and Exhibition Streets (as part of the Next Wave Festival), or from the front of this month's Art Investor magazine.

The fictitious creatures that fill the large, lively playgrounds of Lee's canvases are carefully crafted to be aesthetically enchanting with an edge of something sexy and sometimes sinister. Shy and playful yet also cunning, they beckon like evil clowns or sweet grandmother's offering poisonous candy. The frantic energy of street art combined with the sensitivity of line and colour in these works is likely to make this show more luminous than just a twinkle twinkle so be sure not to miss it.
