From the amazing Monsieur Paul (thanks guys)
There was a time when I used to be completely intimidated by wine and only know two things about it. I knew Cab Savs were the most robust, and I knew there was some kudos to be found saying stuff like ‘great legs', or ‘fantastic year'. There was only so long I could live hiding behind these snippets before people found out I was completely full of shit. Although for one reason or another a great number of people have found out I'm full of shit, I now know my stuff about wine, thanks in large to the good people at Gerald's Bar.
Tucked away on the sleepy strip of Rathdowne Village, this unobtrusive, unpretentious little gem complete with net curtains, knicknacks, free nuts, cold meats, and a killer soundtrack has made me feel comfortable with wine and unafraid to ask questions. Each trip there is a little learning experience about Australia's finest. However, I'm yet to learn how to deal with a three bottles of red 'all I can do is weep and ring mum' hangover. Answers on a card.
