Melbourne has such a wealth of music that it's all too often easy to be blasé about the coming and going of groups. One dies, several are formed to fill its place. To be fair, most of these groups aren't anything special or worth crying into a pillow over. Flesh vs Venom are a notable exception. Having quietly been one of Australia's most creative art/goth/punk/rock/pop/avant groups over the last seven years they are calling it a day. With true style and grace they depart our musical landscape this Friday, leaving behind a back catalogue and a new record. The Kings and Queen are dead, let's hope to fuck something equally impressive replaces them. - LT
