Artist and animator Dell Stewart, of Sleep Club fame, has been recently obsessed with woodgrain. This has emerged from long-term exposure to wood during her childhood in far north Queensland where she learned, like Special Agent Dale Cooper never did, to speak the language of the trees.
This exhibition of new work is not only about wood, it's made of wood, including wooden birds, tropical wooden fruit, and an alphabet made of sticks. Despite the title, there will be no songs, dances, love triangles, or dare-devil thrills, but there will be a mirrored ceiling, courtesy of Alice Euphemia Gertrude Street.
