For nearly her entire life Kim Victoria Wearne’s Bonfire Folk label has lain dormant in the pit of her stomach. But now, after several bouts of creative disquietude and a brush with plywood, its cells have multiplied and spread throughout her body, demanding that she obey their every command. Lucky for us on the consuming end – Bonfire Folk jewellery is the stuff of errant batwings, possessed children and silver finery, all presided over by a large brown dog named Aero.
Also known for her work under the Square Peg Round Hole moniker, the fervent artist behind the brooch, pendant and ring is a keen horder of nature books and a staunch hand-cutting advocate. There are no lasers, just hours of meditative work, in each BF piece. This week at the Rooftop Market, Kim will be offering specials to special creatures, so pocket your spare pennies and peruse away, you may even find yourself so enchanted that you order a custom made piece; the stuff of fancy, indeed. Befriend Bonfire Folk here.
