After extensive testing on animals, OS and national tours, and two EPs ( Blow Up, The Girl And The Sea ) The Presets have released their debut album Beams. The Presets have concocted a powerful party time potion that straddles both rock and dance sets and one can ask the question how does such an awesome live act translate on recording? Well, let's just say that Beams is the sort of album that winks at you from the other side of the room and makes your shoulder move up down until the rest of you follows, resulting in long night of scandalous, naughty behaviour.

There are lots of sorts of beams in this world but this album is somewhere between a moon beam and a laser beam. There is drama in the dark bass lines and star dust in the melodies, hard hitting handclaps, lingering vocals and a strong, intelligent understanding of what makes people want to twist their hands into a fist and shout.

Stay tuned for The Presets Podcast right here on ThreeThousand in the coming weeks. Also, The Presets launch Beams in the Gershwin Room at The Espy, tickets at The Espy ph: (03) 9534 0211, Polyester, Missing Link and Central Station.
