Do you know what a hippie is?

With their headscarves and hand bells, communal chanting and four-part harmonies, Yeasayer have a lot in common with west coast burnouts like Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, or ELO. But they also share similarities with fellow skinny-jeaned loft-lurking Brooklynites TV on The Radio, Grizzly Bear, and Dirty Projectors.

Their debut album All Hour Cymbals is an incredibly fun boho romp. Its beautifully crafted and innovative songs offer a blend of '80s avant-rock and spaced-out '70s soft rock that's both kinda cheesy and really exhilarating - a perfect encapsulation of the new, new age hipster mysticism.

Guilty pleasure? Dude, it's 2008 - guilty pleasures don't exist anymore. If only this hadn't gotten lost in the mail, we woulda told you about it sooner. Turn up the sitar, motherf####r!
