Remember the days when you were made to hammer out Ode To Joy, Chopstix and Greensleaves with thirty other disinterested third graders in primary school music class? Thankfully those days are over, but that doesn't mean that the piano is lost to us forever. Enter Yamaha Felt Hammer, a new series of ‘mini-festivals' bringing a Yamaha Grand Piano to Melbourne's finest concert ‘n drinking hall. Felt Hammer features some of the best piana-tinkling artists around, some more unlikely than others. The line-up includes New Buffalo, Muscles (acoustic), Sophie Brous with Paul Grabowsky, Cor Fuhler (Holland) with Oren Ambarchi, Guy Blackman, Jane Badler with Sir, Lullatone (Japan), Penny Modra/Barrie Barton and many more, with an opening night (make this a link to website?) featuring members of every great band you could possibly think of.
