The Booby Traps have a new album, Makin' It With, coming out and, before they do their official launch in St Kilda, they're going to play a nice intimate show at Off The Hip for all of us real fans. Hanging out at Off The Hip is simply one of the best things you can do in town these days. Mickster won't get mad if you ask him what ‘vegas grind' is, the other customers look sideways at you, trying to work out whether you'll be appearing in the documentary someone makes twenty years from now about Melbourne's world famous doo-wop and surf music revival of 2009. God, maybe they should take your photo now! But, no, that would be uncool. Oh man, it's tough being completely over disco. Anyway, this female fronted fuzzy garage rock is the real thing, and worth every free penny you're going to spend to go see them. But you'll be purchasing the album, right? - PC & PM
