Description:
Footscray's Stockbridge spans the Maribyrnong, connecting the western oasis to the mainland. It used to actually be a stock bridge, then a foot bridge, and now thanks to the guerilla knitters behind the Big Knit (part of the Big West Festival), it's becoming a giant leg warmer! To celebrate this oddity, a mass flashdance is being staged across the bridge, complete with preceding dance lessons and accompanying tunes from DJ Fiona Scott Norman. BYO picnic rugs and regular-sized leg warmers for the western suburb's very own disco-Christo. - MO

ThreeThousand is a subcultural guide to Melbourne, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Melbourne writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence ThreeThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
