What better time to make light of the fashion industry than during Fashion Week? So, let's get to it. Staged scenes in the bowels of the Degraves Street Subway explore parodies of high-end fashion. They've got constructed false advertisements of models in platform shoes for you to inspect... so what does it all mean? It means... ha ha ha... platforms at PLATFORM! This underground installation emphasises the fluid fragility of the world of fashion, whose cultural output is fleeting and, with time, meaningless. Bit deep? Hold on, we can read more into this. The use of creative advertising as a vehicle through which to promote the shoes, serves to highlight the complex relationship between art and fashion, or fashion as art. If you're still awake, and/or breathing, head down to check it out sometime during March. These temporary exhibitions are just as hard to pin down as the industry they are satirising.
