I used to be in Peacocks. It was the greatest thing that has ever happened in my short and pitiful life. The glamour, the unbridled sexuality, the virtuoso musicianship and the adoring crowds would combine and combust each time we stepped on stage. It made me feel like a cross-dressing disco superhero (possible name: Amylman). But it turns out that Peacocks don't want me in their little band anymore. Why? Who knows! Sure, I've put on a bit of weight and my tights don't fit anymore. And maybe I missed a few practices because I was playing Fable II on Xbox. But I'm going to go and watch them anyway. They'll still be the best live band in Melbourne. They haven't played in six months, and the new songs are amazing. Whatever. I wrote all of them anyway, and when they get famous I'm suing the shit out of those guys. I'll see you there - I'll be the chubby guy in the back, dancing poorly. - SM
