Description:
While we're all for subverting the catwalk format during LMFF, the idea of being squashed up against a grimy wall in a dimly lit subway in sweltering heat doesn't really endear itself. Which is what happened last year at Collections in the Underground, a fashion parade making use of the Degraves Street underground subway passage. Luckily, this year, Fitzroy designer Anita King and her business partner Sophie McAlpin (of Bird Girl fame), have promised fans aplenty and adequate ventilation for their second runway show. Which is rad because now you can enjoy the visual stimuli on offer, showcasing individual pieces from a name is a label and Queen. The designs favour voluminous silhouettes and are reconstructed from vintage fabrics and patterns. The catwalk will be an ode to the snakes and ladders board game, and there are free drinks and a chance to chat with the designers after the show.
