Description:
Childhood and adolescence is filled with trauma. Getting embarrassed by your parents. Realising that you are gay like Mel Gibson. Going to your friend's house for a sleepover and they force you to watch I Know What You Did Last Summer and you pee your pants.

Marcus Keating is interested in these formative experiences - the ways we are shaped by social customs. This work (his last in Melbourne for a long time) looks at how we are trapped by things we desire ‘which then transform themselves into the objects of our fears'. It's Freud meets Silence of the Lambs in the counselling department. - PM
