Un Magazine is exactly the kind of thing you should be reading on the train. Think of all the intelligent art chats you could have with your boyfriend or girlfriend over dinner instead of just sitting there moaning about the guy at work who ate your yoghurt three days in a row (he leaves the lactose-streaked teaspoon sitting right on his desk in plain sight). This could save your relationship.
Starting life as a few photocopies stapled together by the people at the Gertrude, Un has blossomed into a hot glossy designed by Warren Taylor and co. Insightful, objective and independent, it's a rare platform for no-B.S. writing on the local and international art scene. Edited by Rosemary Ford, volume 2 issue 2 will have all kinds of writing, including reviews, essays and responses to exhibitions, as well as text-based artworks.
The launch hoo ha includes the Real Hot Bitches dance troupe, DJs Helen Johnson and ‘Officina Sans System' (aka Warren Taylor and his buddy).
