If you think that drawing is the poor man's painting then you're the richman's fool. It can be said that drawing is a primal art, more free than painting with perhaps a closer link to the artists' touch. This and Other Worlds is a drawing show that flaunts the power and diversity of this rather humble medium. The relative simplicity of form is enlivened by the magical perceptions of the world that only those with the most poetic vision can instil.
Artists represented include Ricky Swallow, Sharon Goodwin (pictured) and Nadine Christensen and a highlight of the show is an exquisite drawing by the inspiring artist and tattooist from Canberra, eX de Medici, which depicts a rifle drawn from a composition of the vivid and colourful patterns of moths. This is no colouring-in competition.
