The Changes' first Australian exhibition opens this Friday. The cause for celebration is warranted; The Changes art band project brings together Shauna T and Misha Hollenbach from P.A.M., Fergadelic from Tonite, and Sk8thing from A Bathing Ape and BBC, takes them out of their subcult-fashion domains and focuses their collective mental excursions on visual/physical experience.
It's a wild combination that's seen exhibitions all over the world (Tokyo, Milan, and happenings everywhere in between), fluid multiple identities (Boohoo Haha, Vertical Doorway, Roland Korg, Robot Asimov, Mr T Shirt, Boy George Michael, Veronique Cliché...), and incisive compositions that evoke and conflate all of the cultural phenomena of the last three decades.
This show follows on directly from their blockbuster appearance at the prestigious MU Eindhoven gallery in The Netherlands, that has hosted Ari Marcopoulos, Peter Sutherland and Cosmic Wonder, amongst so many others. Still on a high from that performance, this gig will be exceptional.
