There was a time in our lives when we didn't need a frame or pristine white walls to affirm the value of an image. Through accumulation of posters we all learned the basics of curation and began the ceaseless task of constructing our identities. Hours spent in the bedroom with music and blu-tack arranging and re-arranging - a topless girl here, a Rasta flag there...
Responding to these ideas and more, this weekend Joint Hassles have organised their second Bedroom Poster Show and will be exhibiting A1 posters in the house of artist and musician Sean Bailey. The RSVPs for this show are impressive: Josh Petherick, Nick Mangan, Rose Nolan, Geoff Newton, DAMP, Helen Johnson, A Constructed World, Rob McHaffie and at 3pm Snawklor (Nathan Gray and Dylan Martorell) will be playing followed by Wasted Truth featuring hosts Sean Bailey and Harriet K Morgan.
Admittedly, work purchased at this show will probably tear and damage, smudge and crumple. But, one day, so will you.
