London-based illustrative genius Will Sweeney rose to prominence in the art world through his graphics work for revered UK streetwear label Silas. Along with cohorts James Jarvis, Ben Sansbury and Lizzie Finn, Sweeney helped propagate more of an institution than a clothing label, culminating in the book Where is Silas?.

He has gone on to work with companies such as Levi's and Gimme 5, as well as releasing his own comic book series Tales From Greenfuzz and accompanying toys such as Helmut the HotDog Man through Amos Toys.

Many of us were formally introduced to Will Sweeney through ‘Alakazam', his shared show of illustrations and prints with cohort Susumu Mukai that travelled from Tokyo's Beams Gallery to the now sadly defunct Someday Gallery in 2005.

Sweeney's work shares the stare-at-it-for-hours complexity of children's picture books such as Animalia or Where's Wally? with the dark humour of Viz comics. The surreal worlds his characters inhabit though, are completely his own.
As a sort of thankyou for the amazing Lilliputian landscape adorning their latest longplayer, Architecture in Helsinki have invited Sweeney over for a little show at The Narrows. Original artwork from the album and accompanying two singles will be on display, as well as some other drawings.
