A show by Melbourne artists who, at some point, have all found themselves isolated in hotel rooms. So who are they? Witnesses against the mob? Ivana trump's spare hair? No! They're a merry band of Serps and friends, including the magical Martin Bell, in a multi-room show curated by Johann Rashid.

This, of course, is not the Waverley Inn. The rooms at the Carlton Hotel are more economy-style - with a simple sink and light bulb set up, once reserved for recently released from prison criminals. Rumour has it that James actually had to get a ghost whisperer in to cleanse the place before he took over and flocked everything a couple of years ago. Now the Carlton is home to an ever-evolving band of artists, designers, copywriters, jeans makers, musicians and masseuses. It's a weird place.

Rumour also has it that this is the final show for the Carlton's second floor art space, before it becomes something else, possibly another freakin bar. And this is a good note to go out on.
