It took a few unhappy Frenchman to build the Eiffel Tower. It took a few stoners to figure out that weed causes laziness. And it took a few years of sitting around in smoking jackets for a few Italians to come up with some famous proverbs. You know it, and Ed Janssen knows ‘It Takes a Fabergé Egg to Make An Omelette'.

Making Sense
is a group show of artists who have taken to everyday objects and used them as inspiration for new works of art. Don't scoff and be all "Yeah, but don't every artist do this when they make shit?" because each artist take one step deeper in the crafty swamp and get all self-reflexive on our asses. Lauren Brown takes over the floor space with a mix of video projection and paper to create oversized dress-making patterns, Emma White creates a world out of fimo, and Ed Janssen, as we have said, makes some kind of blingy breakfast from an ornamental egg.

Editor: It's Julia de Ville's launch at Craft Vic tonight too, so get there early because she has lots of friends and they like champagne as much as you do.
