Jota Castro, a deliciously quirky character, is a former diplomat at the UN and EU turned prominent International artist. His practise includes installation, photography and performance and his style is rife with trivial humour and politically incorrect sarcasm.
Castro's artworks speak for themselves and here is a taste of what they have to say. "I wrote a book-no good- I met my wife in Madrid, I married her in Belfast, I almost lost her, I almost lost me, I came back to my dreams, it makes me laugh knowing that Freud loved cocaine as much as me. Mathematics calms me down, I once dreamed of a star that walked." Simultaneously confusing and captivating Castro's work speaks in tongues about the contradictions of modern life. If you don't like it, just be glad that he isn't writing foreign policy.
