Comprised of two human drummers and a visual artist, d.v.d piece together live animations triggered by the musicians' drumming. They push music/gaming boundaries by reworking the ‘80s arcade classic, ‘Pong' (You all know, Pong, yeh?) with their own unique tribute. These guys are just one of the groups performing at the Aphids Reel Music Festival - four nights of live performances combining music with the moving image.

Exhibition espresso < expressway, by renowned architects Denton Corker Marshall, spans 20 years of their history from the creation of a silver coffee table for the National Gallery of Victoria to a coffee spoon for Italian design factory Alessi.

New exhibitions at the CCP

Last Thursday night nearly 500 people packed into the CCP to celebrate the first shows of 2006, an impressive turn-out for some equally impressive exhibitions.

In Gallery 1 Juha Tolonen’s Entropia combines the ubiquity of entropy with the implausibility of utopia. Grand sounding but visually clear, pictures of turnstiles leading to nowhere or a television reflecting its own environment skilfully contrast ideas of progress and degeneration.
