Portrait of Stefan Marx by Thomas Jeppe
The Bicycle Film Festival starts next week! It sneaked up on us like 'Kamikazi' without his lucky socks on.
The first event in the festival is an exhibition curated by Brad Haylock. The line up is, phew, wow, okay. Alter studio are showing those stickers that go on bike frames. Both Tristian Ceddia and Thomas Jeppe are showing photos. Robert Cook is showing 'Cyclists Are F*ckheads' and its subsequent, more mentally balanced follow-up essay. Plus there's Shaun Gladwell, Simon Pericich and Sidney Nolan (WTF?).
Then, right when you're disappointed the launch is over, you'll realise that BFF has just started. Here's what you won't have missed:
1. The festival launch party
2. Three days of screenings
3. ThreeThousand's Spandex Parade!
4. The Bike Polo Tournament on Saturday
5. The B.est F.riends F.orever Street Party
6. The comp night at Commuter Cycles
7. And more!
8. Get tickets!
You'll be so happy. I know. Oh I know. Don't cry, it's embarrassing. Only six sleeps. Listen I have to go now.

ThreeThousand is a subcultural guide to Melbourne, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Melbourne writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence ThreeThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
