We have all been dropped by the devil at some stage in our lives, but very few at the tender age of six. Given the title for their show by a late night encounter with a dark man in a dark place (the Gold Coast) Brisbane artists Jo Laboo and Carmela Ruffino have taken this chance experience and turned it into an exhibition combining glossy portraiture and text. Deliberately oversized and imposing, this exhibition is a satirical take that looks into the humour of imagery when contrasted with certain text. Dark, contradictory and with contributions from Warrick McGrath this exhibition is worth dropping everything (including six year olds) for.
