You'll also know that most of them are about feeling alienated and lonely, so the thought of a subway full of zinemakers uniting and selling their wares is some really cockle-warming stuff.

Description:
Some girls with a nose for trouble and a finger on your crotch artery are launching a new magazine called Death of a Scenester this weekend. They have an excellent concept, which is - it's going to maintain a punk, DIY-underground edge without looking like a piece of shit. They'll promote freedom of artistic expression, just like zines do, but they'll also have in-depth features and opinion columns about everything from music to immigration.

And it's underground too, which is at least 27 more cool points. In the form of 12 separate artworks by dedicated zinesters, zines in all their undiscovered badass glory will be on display.

Zines are awesome. They're just small photocopied low-fi mags and often targeted at a niche group of nobodies. Robot nerds. Nerf nerds. Articulate shoplifters. Those with a penchant for drawings of toasters. And so forth. Well, here's a zine "for astrology nerds" but it deserves a much broader audience.
