The Red Triangle
The house PA quietly lays down The Books, a smooth surface for the clinking of balls and the murmuring of punters. The room, at the top of a creaky firetrap staircase, fits 17 full-size snooker tables and is so large that pre smoking ban, it was impossible to see from one side to the other.
You can't imagine how much smoke and testosterone filled the cavernous, high-vaulted darkness of the Red Triangle on that evening, back in 1981, when three-times world champ Robby Foldvari took on eight-times Aussie titleist George Ganim Jr.
Ping Pong at Sports Club
There's crappy plastic chairs, and some partially deflated green balloons. Are you enthralled yet? You should be, because the walls at Sports Club may be an unappetizing mustard colour but they are lined with super awesome table tennis tables, and if there's one thing we've invested our time in here at ThreeThousand, it's table tennis.
