Description:
David Mutch curated that Last Days of Polaroid show at Blindside late last year. It was a memorable one, a photo show set up like a closing down sale. Well turns out David's skills extend beyond the sentimental medium of Polaroid and the clever medium of curation, cos here he is with a stand-out show of 'normal' photography.

Description:
You may already know Antuong Nguyen's psyched-out aesthetic from his videos, photomontage prints and ventures with Moop Jaw (directing clips for the likes of Peaches, Hawnay Troof and QUA). But whatever you've seen, it's the promised inclusion of 'an epic 10-minute psycho-geographic romance film made entirely of YouTube footage', that makes for certain Antuong's next solo exhibition at Seventh will give us a chance to lurk into a strange but appealing deep corner of his mind that, as the show's bizarre title might suggest, is itching to introduce itself.

Description:
Having recently returned from Sydney, The Safari Team continue their treacherous journey through the centre of the Earth. In the second of a three-part exhibition series, they are guided by maps based on stories about the magma core. Does Moses rule the underground with his subterranean-sleaze-cloning-factory, for instance? Is Michael Hutchence the creator of the universe? These are the types of questions they're confronting here.

The convenience store is our contemporary galleria; archways of chocolate legs splayed akimbo give way to the insinuation of ice-cream's carnal knowledge. Television's advertising mania has gripped the human psyche and made these neon wonderlands a second home, every image slowly turned into a high-definition but lowest-common denominator phantasmagoria.
We have all been dropped by the devil at some stage in our lives, but very few at the tender age of six. Given the title for their show by a late night encounter with a dark man in a dark place (the Gold Coast) Brisbane artists Jo Laboo and Carmela Ruffino have taken this chance experience and turned it into an exhibition combining glossy portraiture and text.
