Description:
The Streetparty-Opulent partnership is a surprising one. It's like someone's put a mongoose and snake in a playpen hoping they'd play. And then they get along just fine and start making mixtapes or something. What is the catalyst? Baltimore lady Rye Rye. First, she's a little lady with a larger than life attitude.

Miss Libertine, 34 Franklin St, Melbourne
When:
Sat Sept 27, doors 9pm
How much:
$10 on the door
Description:
There are some people that go to Favela Rock more than they visit their own mothers. This is kinda understandable because no mother is going to clear her turntables for the likes of M.A.F.I.A, Apollo Kids, Mexi, Cazuale and Team Opulent. And no mother will hand around Jager and Agwa for $5.

Description:
Spank Rock's partner in rhyme is heading to Melbourne for what will be a truly rocking party this Friday night. Even though he's more known for his mic skills, Pase Rock is a DJ in demand - if you're being asked to spin at Lindsay Lohan‘s party, you know you're on point. Add his own incredible production to the mix and you've got a triple threat party rocker.

Description:
There are many ways to clean a sneaker. However, most of these are inglorious. Such as Napisan, leather paint, the rough side of a tongue, what have you. So wear beaters to Favela because getting your drank on that cheap can mean getting dinner on your feet. (Drink specials this month include $5 shots of Agwa or Tequila before midnight.

Description:
Favela Rock is the old man now that Sound Clash has been born. But he's an old man who shouts stuff like ‘Pangs!' and ‘Go over to his MySpace to check the incredible remix of Kanye's "Homecoming" with ASIH, that beat is MEAN!' He is a lot cooler than other old men but he knows when to keep his pants on.

Description:
Opulent are snapping a branch off their Favela nights and planting it in soil closer to the CBD. Sound Clash is a night of, b-more, dancehall, hip hop and pop. So it's really quite similar to the Favela nights but with a little more juice for the dancefloor, a weekly turnaround and frighteningly cheap drinks (two for one basics and $4 beers).

Favela Rock has, indeed, been ‘spilling your drinks since 2005'.
So, hang your waterproof hoodie on the heater, because you'll be needing it again this Saturday. It will be Mafia, Ooh Ee, Jesse I, Young Steezy, Edo and TPC playing crunk, dancehall, b'more, electro and something known, perhaps disturbingly, as ‘reggaeton'.
