If the Warner Bros. Duck Amuck clip taught us anything, there is much power in the grey lead and the pen; characters are at the mercy of their maker no matter how many times they spit, "How ‘bout some colour, stupid!" Once the biro joins forces with paper, and is driven by some serious wrist rotations, anything can happen: a white box catches on fire, a zig-zag has an orgy and the sheepish gnome of missing things tells you he doesn't know where your left sock is.

Description:
It's a shame, but with buttons and knobs poking every which way but straight, you can't decorate your mixer that well. There's an opportunity for fanciful adornment, however, right there on the decks. It's called ‘the slipmat'. A group of people known as ‘AWE50ME.com' (srsly, how rad is that), along with Plus et Plus and IdN Magazine bring an international touring exhibition of customised slip mats art to Melbourne this week.

Nice Box
Fort Heart Co (get it, ‘for the art') presents an exhibition tonight with the frankly incendiary title of 'Nice Box'. More than thirty artists, designers and illustrators will be exhibiting at No Vacancy Gallery, the city's newest art space in (weird, we know) QV.
What will they be exhibiting? Information is scarce on the ground, but each will be responding to the idea of a box.
