From this Thursday night, Green-Wood Gallery are placing works by 17 local illustrators at your fingertips, showcasing some of the Melbourne artists we hold dear. The Drawing Machine mashes sculptural and sound installations from the likes of Al Stark, Dylan Martorell, Tai Snaith and Nathan Gray, alongside fine-line work with Bonsai and Two and Deam and Drew.
Let us say this much: Nathan Gray's work will blow your tiny mind. Much like a page of LSD tabs you mistook for a sheet of lasagne and cooked and ate with bolognaise and a creamy white sauce.
In Love, Purity, Accuracy, Nathan presents an installation that combines his perfect, minutely-detailed drawing, woodwork, collage, paper marbling, silk screening, weaving and ceramics into a giant continuum. Here we have new works by Nathan Gray, famed for his print-making, sculpture, woven paper works, graphic design and improvised sound activities. And other things.
So this show involves performances. The first (on Saturday July 18 at 2pm) features Nathan Gray with Chris Hill as Halfman/HalfMoffarah – an electronic / vocal improvisation last seen as part of the Aggregation No.
