Description:
After doing a roaring trade on the first issue, and having some time to dream up new material, A Cloth-Covered Button has returned. The second issue of this spicy fashion rag will launch on Sunday with a chocolate box of performers. Some are pencilled in - some are penned - but even if a third of the people who promise to show up actually do, there'll be enough local talent to fill a scout hall.

(He has a Hunter S. Thompson tattoo, serious.) Theme: Innuendo. Hosted by small stage hornbags Cabaret Diablo and an army of cigarette children.

Visiting the store is like taking a crash course in Japanese youth culture in all its loud, fickle and furiously paced glory. From the retina-searing design of Nail Venus (a bi-monthly nail art publication) to the austere coolness of the design quarterly +81 there's something for all tastes.

These unstoppable Brisbane brightsparks are doing it again, putting us to shame with their wide-eyed bushiness. They're launching issue #3 of The Lifted Brow with Talkshow Boy, Washington, Jerry Falwell Destroyed Earth and DJ OK this Friday. They have made their own merch, and they will have this thing at the party where "You have your photo taken against this background, see, but first you crawl through the tunnel - actually, it might not sound that great over the phone.
