Plug-in City's mic-stand-wielding frontman, Justin Hooper, has had a pretty big year, bouncing back from an incident featuring a motorcycle and a cliff. Description:
Twenty years ago - perhaps caught up in the heady whirlwind of Expo '88 and the Iran-Iraq ceasefire - David Vodicka founded Rubber Records. Could he have known, as he ate a Chiko Roll in his Jenny Kee windcheater, that it would grow into one of Australia's finest independent labels, ultimately outlasting Summershine, Dogmeat, and Au Go Go? Perhaps not, but he can look back on it all tomorrow as his ears are pounded by the best acts that Rubber has released (would you even say, perchance, the best Rubber bands? Bahahhaaa).

Description:
Penny's favourite band of all time are launching their debut album tomorrow, and she encourages you to make your annual trip southside to see this show. We couldn't allow her to write this OUT because she started foaming at the mouth and getting all amped up, rendering the office an unsafe work environment.

It's hard to imagine a tougher task than capturing Hot Little Hands on disk. Their sound ranges so much: one minute it's swimming with swampy cymbally synth, the next trumpets are blaring and you're at the fair. You could almost argue that if there was a signature HLH moment, it would be the sudden, and wonderfully nonsensical shifts in tone, pace, tempo, everything.

Description:
We have had it good for so long. Getting to see Hot Little Hands for a few measly dime or a plate of gluten-free rissoles. This, of course, will change after they play Laneway in a week and everyone realises what has been patently obvious to various people for a long, long time. Anyway, like a rolling stone, all that.

When Hot Little Hands came up with "HLH @ TIT" they considered throwing in their guitars and choosing a career coining catchy gig titles for bands. Don't worry though. We kidnapped the band, tied them to trees and zapped them with batteries until they agreed to play for us.
